SMALL WONDER

Tamar Valley, Tasmania
Small Wonder crafts expressive, cool-climate wines from two of Tasmania's leading cool-climate regions: a certified organic vineyard in the Tamar Valley and a second site in the Coal River Valley, currently in organic transition. All wines are hand-harvested, made and bottled on-site at a purpose-built winery in the Tamar Valley. Winemaking is light-touch yet precise: wild ferments, gentle lees work, restrained oak and gravity-led handling. With small-batch fermentations and block-by-block vinification, each wine reflects its site, soil and season. In 2026, Small Wonder will open a new cellar door and restaurant in the Tamar Valley, creating a thoughtful and contemporary destination for Tasmania’s cool climate wine region. Guests will be able to enjoy seasonal dishes, explore the estate’s organic vineyards and taste Small Wonder wines in a space designed for memorable connection.

More about the Producer

At Small Wonder, our ethos is grounded in care, for the land, for each other, and for the future. We believe wines of true character begin with living soils and thoughtful stewardship. Every decision we make is shaped by this guiding principle. Though we are small, we think ambitiously. We believe the most powerful change often begins at the edges, with caretakers who act with purpose, and with wines that speak softly, yet leave a lasting impression.

Our winemaking is intentional and guided by a light-touch mentality. Fruit is hand-picked at optimal natural ripeness and handled with precision to preserve freshness, texture, and the detail of site. From vineyard to bottle, we aim to reflect the quiet wonder of this place.

“Small Wonder is committed to making everything we touch better… we feel it’s an obligation to be committed to better practices, better vineyards, better processes, and better wines. Ultimately, we want to make small local efforts that connect us to the movement that brings global change.” — Paul McArdle, CEO
