Under the guidance of winemaker Di Miller, Bellarmine now sits among the top few producers in the Pemberton region and is very much a quiet achiever, listed as a 5 star Halliday Winery.
The Bellarmine vineyard was developed by German born Dr Willi Schumacher, the result of a world wide search for a perfect vineyard site. The vineyard sits adjacent to Pemberton’s ‘100 Year Forest’ in one of the most pristine locations imaginable.
This is very much cool climate winemaking with a focus on Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
Three outstanding variations of Riesling [Dry, Half Dry [23 grams residual sugar] and Select [Auslese style – 75 grams residual sugar] are a result of Willi Schumacher’s passion for this variety, all three are driven by fruit quality with perfect sugar / acid balance.
