Chivite is one of Spain’s oldest and most respected wine producers.
Founded in 1647, eleven generations have now passed on the wine-making baton at Chivite.
Chivite started with vineyards in Cintruénigo, Navarra but have now spread to Rioja, Rueda and Ribera del Duero with wines produced under a number of labels, all with a reputation for quality and consistency.
Navarra lies to the north-east of Spain’s best known region Rioja and has for many years produced significant volumes of Rose with Chivite’s Gran Feudo Rosado listed as Spain’s largest selling Rose.
In a country where more Rose is consumed than white wine that is quite a statement.
Tempranillo is now the number one variety in Navarra ahead of Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chivite have a reputation for producing some of the best wines in the Navarra region.
In total Chivite has over 300 hectares of vineyards planted with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. A wide range of wines is produced with pride of place going to their Colección 125 range.
