The name Torre Solar, meaning Solar Tower, draws its inspiration from the Solar Tower built on the outskirts of the winemaking town of Manzanares. At the cutting edge of experimentation in alternative energies the contrast between the old windmills and the new solar tower was more than striking. Torre Solar, contrasting but complementing the old and the new, selects out individual vineyard sites, vivifies them separately and brings them to market in a package that provides a beacon for quality in the region.
