Congratulations to Luke Jolliffe and the team at Stella Bella with the Stella Bella 2020 Luminosa Chardonnay being named ‘Chardonnay of the Year’ in the 2023 Halliday Wine Companion.
Scoring an amazing 98 points, it pipped established names such as Pierro, Bannockburn, Yattarna, Leeuwin, Oakridge and Cullen [all also scored 98 points]
Unfortunately the 2020 vintage of Stella Bella Luminosa Chardonnay sold out a few months back.
However, the Stella Bella 2021 Luminosa Chardonnay and Suckfizzle 2021 Chardonnay are released this week.
Availability of both of these wines have been impacted by increased demand and a limited amount only will be available.

Stella Bella Luminosa Chardonnay 2021 – 97 Points
“2021 was a cool vintage in Margaret River, the conditions proved a little tricky at times (rain due to dual, offshore cyclones both at the start and finish of harvest, the first in early February and the second in April); however, as always, it was a matter of “producer over circumstance,” and the best prevailed with grace. So, within the context of a cooler vintage, the tension and phenolics in the 2021 Luminosa Chardonnay make it edgy and alive. The acidity is pert but ripe—testament to the health of the site in Boodjidup—and the fruit in which it is ensconced is fleshy and concentrated. A spool of acid and flavour through the finish assist the prolonged linger in the mouth. Excellent.”
Suckfizzle Chardonnay 2021 – 95+ points
“The 2021 Suckfizzle Chardonnay is all about citrus zest fruit and pop rock acidity—it’s excellent and will only get better in the next couple of years.This is edgy and tense and long… Beautiful. Tight. Coiled.”
