Stella Bella continues to be recognised among the top producers in Margaret River.
The Real Review recently released their list of the top 52 wineries in Australia with Stella Bella ranked 19, the highest ranking for any Western Australian producer.
These rankings are determined solely by the wine scores gained throughout the year of The Real Review tastings. The Real Review team review over 10,000 wines annually, so the competition is intense. There are over 2,150 wineries vying to be on the list.
Huon Hooke says “Winemaker Luke Joliffe has made his case to join the region’s dress circle, his 2019 Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon scoring an impressive 99 points, and 2018 Suckfizzle Cabernet Sauvignon, 2020 Luminosa Chardonnay, and 2020 Suckfizzle Chardonnay all going gold (95 points). The good-value entry-level brand is Skuttlebutt.”
While the top end wines from Stella Bella receive plenty of well deserved attention, we are also excited about two new releases in the Stella Bella range:
The Stella Bella 2022 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is as good as any vintage in the last 20 years. Semillon in Margaret River in 2022 was outstanding and 62% Semillon provides the backbone of this wine. Purity of fruit, perfect balance and excellent length are the features of this vintage.
The recently released Stella Bella 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, from one of the regions best vintages for Cabernet Sauvignon, is an effortless, elegant and seamless medium bodied red that is almost too enjoyable as a young wine. Small percentages of Merlot and Malbec play their part but it is genuinely good Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon that drives the palate.
The Stella Bella 2019 Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon that was awarded a very impressive 99 points by The Real Review. Read our Newsletter about this wine here.
